 Army officer pay fixation divided into two parties, on first part pay will be fixed up to  Lt col/col and second party is brig and above.

Colonel and Below

According to the rank and year of commissioned service on the date of promotion 

Brigadier and Above

At the stage above their pay including rank pay, if any in the lower rank. if the pay so fixed provides an increase in pay equal to or less than one increment one premature increment shall be allowed. 

How to do it:-

1. For long course you should enter Date of Commission on Date cell and follow the format which is also mentioned in the Date of commission cell, which is day month (short format Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec)  and in year cell just enter last figure of the year (eg 22 Apr 10). When you enter date and hit enter key 2^nd lieutenant rank appear in rank cell. If any officer has Ante Date seniority, in that case Ante date you should be enter Ante Date in the date call.
2. For short Course who are directly appoint as Captain you should have to enter date of commission in Captain/short course  in date cell and press enter in rank cell captain is appear.
3. Up to Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel you don’t need date of promotions of their pervious promotions. You just know date of commission and present rank.
4. If you went know up to lieutenant Colonel/Colonel rank pay you must have known two dates one is date of commission and second is date present current rank which is officer currently exercising/admissible. For example Date of Commission is 22 Jul 2010 and his present rank is Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel, as at that condition you just enter Date in Date of Commission cell and in rank of Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel column in date cell you just enter Current date of or required date. In below reporting Columns rank pay will be appear in last row of the report. According the dates which you enter rank pay will fixed in just blink of second.
5. Brigadier above and you need date of commission date plus Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel date, Brigadier Date and so on up to Lieutenant General.
6. Report will be generated whenever Rank pay has any change either its change due to promotions or revision of pay scale according to the rank.
